Guardian K-9 Training

K-9 Master Trainer

I really enjoy the fact that we own and operate Global Pet Foods; a Pet Specialty Store in Grande Prairie.

I absolutely love the fact that I am a certified K-9 Master Trainer and have helped hundreds of people over the last 9 years.

The most gratifying thing that I have to share is the love of being a German shepherd Breeder. We have a great working line as well as a wonderful family line for people of all different needs.

As a Master Trainer I have the ability to help people with choosing the right puppy for their family or themselves. I also help with basic obedience to working protection dogs and also proper home and kennel management.

With being a German Shepherd breeder and finding proper homes for our puppies, to me it is imperative that I forward as much beneficial information with each pup as I possibly can.

There are so many variables that come with the home and lifestyle that you may want for your pup. To me the biggest part of any pup and dog is to do the socialization process in the correct manner. A proper socialized dog is a great dog.

I very strongly recommend and suggest training with your pup as well.

When you first get a pup you should do nothing other than some lead walking with a collar and lead. The first two weeks of owning a new pup is crucial that you let the pup get accustom to his/her new surroundings.

Formal training should not start before 17 weeks of age. 8 weeks to 20 weeks is the most crucial time in a Puppy’s life. Negative events should be avoided during this time and if it occurs the issue needs to be corrected immediately to prevent lifelong problems.

I am a firm believer in becoming attached to your pup/dog with proper training procedures and using body language and voice control to bond with your dog in a way that no other options can. Creating a solid bond is the best approach and giving the pup/dog respect, you will have that respect returned many times over. I teach people how to read their dogs and also teach them how to be great handlers. The German Shepherd is a Herding dog and loves to work and to be on guard.

You can have a magnificent Shepherd with the proper approach and the proper form of Human training. Once the Human component understands the correct approach the K-9 component becomes so much more achievable and pleasurable to teach.

Our Puppies will only go to their new homes after 12 weeks of age, as we feel that the importance of learning from their Mom and Dad is imperative. Only dogs can correct pups in a way that no others can.

This will also allow me to spend some time with the Puppies as well to read them and offer the new owners suggestions to achieve the magnificent Dog that you desire.

Please contact me with any questions you may have regarding classes or individual training.
